 Start to finish of this kitchen renovation! We replaced the laminate countertops for new beautiful granite counters, got rid of the outdated backsplash in exchange for a marble look wall tile. The ductwork was replaced and a new hood fan put in. And lastly a new sink and faucet to finish the kitchen!
We all know that Grey is the new Beige and Hardwood flooring colors have really been showcasing that. However in 2018 we will be seeing more brownish-greys. Wood flooring has added the grey and brown colors and undertones by creating floors that have a “driftwood” appearance. Gone is yellow toned oak shades and cherry tones. Homeowners are also trending towards a more matte or satin finished product, as an alternative to a gloss. Our new Hardwood Line by Laurentian Hardwood “Paisley Planks” is highly styled. Character marks are hand-filled and colour matched, the staining and finishing process enhances the texture, natural grain and character of the wood. This hardwood also has an ultra-matte finish providing a natural, and trendy look.   Another LA Home Solutions kitchen renovation in the works! In this home we are installing new vinyl flooring, we cut down the raised eating ledge and installed new laminate countertops and are working on painting the orange cabinets, white!

Have a beautifully designed day! ❤️ One of the most common questions I get is - what type of flooring should I select to coordinate with golden oak cabinets? Sometimes the budget doesn’t allow for you to paint or change your cabinets but you still want your space to look updated.   Because oak can look a bit busy I usually suggest finding a more solid wood floor in a light or a dark finish that lightly pulls in the oak color but modernizes it with a deeper brown, grey or white tone. This allows the space to look tied together and not too busy with competing wood grains. In this home we switched out the main floor carpet and linoleum for a wide plank vinyl throughout with just a touch of a golden distressing that helped tie everything together.
