Working with this couple was truly a joy! They had newly purchased an old farm house and wanted to update it before they moved in. Walls came down to open up the kitchen to the dining room. Electrical, appliances and ducting was moved and new patio doors were installed. A peninsula and Island were planned for more storage, highlighted by a ceiling mounted hood suspended over the new gas range. Because the customers loved to spend time outdoors – they didn’t want to have to worry about keeping their shoes on if they quickly had to run inside, so a durable floor was a must! We selected Beaulieu Oasis Tonga Vinyl Plank flooring that is wear and water resistant. For the cabinets we selected an off white with a grey glaze shadowing detail from Lectus Cabinets. The glaze feature gives dimension to the cabinets and helps tie in the darker colors in the home. To balance the space we installed Antique Brown granite countertops that have flecks of black, grey and brown throughout. We went with a traditional bevel subway tile from Olympia tile installed to the ceiling to add height to the space. We couldn't be happier with how this home turned out! In this living room, the clients envisioned a classic, timeless space with white cabinet built-ins sized to fit their electronics equipment. We chose to accent the white trim with a Bianca Carrera mosaic marble around the face of the firebox and a 12 x 24 marble tile accented the hearth and the top of the built-ins.
Here at LA Home Solutions we know the importance of detail! This project started with a drafted drawing of the space so that the client could envision proportions and overall look of the space. After tearing out the concrete hearth and framing the new structure our carpenter than hand built the cabinets and added the trim details. Our painters over at Ferguson Paint & Design did an amazing job matching the built ins to the existing trim in the home. The marble was installed from the LA Home Solutions showroom and modern handles were installed. We are loving the finished space!
